PIETERMARITZBURG, SOUTH AFRICA
XENOPHOBIA has once again raised its despicable head, and everything has changed overnight for the large numbers of foreign nationals living within our borders.
Xenophobia is sometimes described as an intense fear, hatred, or dislike of people from other countries, cultures or groups perceived as foreigners.
It manifests itself in division, social clashes, and physical violence against foreigners, many of whom have resided in SA for decades.
Particularly sad is the trauma revealed in children who have been born, raised, and schooled in SA.
Our first concern, understandably so, has been for our Christian brothers and sisters, who for the fear of their lives, have been unable to leave their homes for the past few weeks.
Macedonian Ministries, with help from local Churches, has been able to assist with food parcels, clothing and warm bedding which in this context is only a drop in the ocean, in terms of what these dear folk really need.
They have asked me to extend sincere appreciation to all the donors who have lovingly contributed. See pictures. Please pray for our brothers and sister, plead with God for their protection and a dramatic change of heart in the lives of those who are the perpetrators of this scourge.
